Let it Snow!

Along with Abraham Lincoln's birthday on Tuesday, Feb. 12, came several inches of snow here at his boyhood home, in Spencer County, Ind.





As I hiked around photographing the Living Historical Farm at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial I couldn't help but think about how hard the winters were for Lincoln and his pioneer family living on the Indiana frontier.

We'd rather be No. 1, but No. 2 is not too shabby!

Prolific Travel Writer Earn Conn has written 400 travel columns in his long career traveling throughout Indiana and abroad. For his 401st column he boiled down all his Indiana travels into a single Top 10 list. Lincoln's Boyhood Home, Spencer County, Ind., came in at a very respectable No. 2 on his list. Sticking up for Indiana's Lincoln

I thought you all might enjoy reading this post from the Lincoln Amphitheatre blog. As Kentucky prepares to kick off the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration next week, those of us who live in Indiana keep reminding folks that while Lincoln was born in Kentucky, and rose to fame in Illinois the 14 formative years he spent in Indiana shouldn't be overlooked.
