My Christmas present to my mom this year was to take her to Santa Claus, IN for the Christmas festival. She collects Santas and loves Christmas and I knew she would enjoy the trip. Not only did we have a blast, she told me this was the best Christmas present she has ever received as an adult! Everyone in Santa Claus was so warm and welcoming, and we really felt like we'd escaped the real world and landed at the North Pole. The town is so charming. We enjoyed going on a photo safari to find all the Santas and statues around town. We stayed at Santa's Lodge, went to the three Christmas craft shows, and ate at the Silent Night Cafe where I had the best coffee ever: black forest coffee! We postmarked our letters at the post office, shopped at all the gift shops, toured the Candy Castle (twice!), went to the Town Hall open house, and enjoyed the fun parade. We also went to the Festival of Lights at Christmas Lake Village. Our favorite stop was the Santa Claus Museum and seeing all the old memorabilia from Santa Claus Land. It was so nice that none of the places charged admission. THANK YOU for making our trip so memorable.
